Trip to NY City

This weekend was a long exhuasting, yet fun weekend! I chaperoned my youngest daughter's trip to NY city! We had a great time there. We saw the Statue of Liberty, South Street Sea Port, a tour of NBC studios, a Broadway play "Tarzan" and a stop by 6 Flags! Here are some pictures we took while we were there. I feel a scrapbook idea coming on!

Church Donation Basket

Here is a picture of a basket of Stampin Up goodies I donated to my church for an auction recently! I had way too much fun creating all these items. There is a covered notepad, candle, note cards, key chain, and candy bag in here. I really liked how the pink and turquoise turned out together. I used the SU stamp set "Petals & Paisley's" and the coordinating designer paper and card stock. The candle is a neat process that I'll be having a class in soon! Take a look and see what you think. I hope to find out what other people thought of it at the auction too! Enjoy :)!

Organizing Suggestion

I am one of the lucky people who have a whole craft room! That is the good news, bad news is the room is a downsize from having the entire basement in the last two houses we lived in! Somehow you always manage to "grow into" your space, at least I did! So now, in a small room, I've had to come up with some clever ways to keep my things organized yet still accessible - not as easy as it sounds! I found one thing to help in my card making/scrapbooking process, read that as "finding what I need" it helped to put all my brads in one container! I found these plastic containers at Michael's (jewelry section) for less then $3 each. THe good thing is each compartment locks individually so if you accidentally knock it over - it's okay! It also helps the brads from "traveling" from one section to the other! It works great for separating your beads too! Take a look below to see what it looks like! Let me know if this suggestion works for you too!

Prayers

If you have time in your busy schedule, and are so inclined, take time to say a prayer for all of the people involved in the recent tragedies at Virginia Tech. The Lord's Prayer says it all in one sentence "forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us"! You never know how each day will end so don't forget to live each day to it's fullest!
Don't forget to smile too, if it doesn't make someone else smile then they'll at least wonder what you've been up to!

Busy Having Fun!

I've been busy lately! A fun type of busy though! I have been playing with my newest stamps so take a look to see what I've been up to!

This is done using Tempting Turquiose cardstock, Au Chocolate DP, "In Full Bloom" stamp set and I colored it with chalk! I also added a Tempting Turquoise ribbon! I love how it turned out!

I made this one using the Tempting Turquiose cardstock again, Petals & Paisleys DP, "Heartfelt Thanks" stamp set, the watercolor joy wheel and my new circle punch and I can't forget about my favorite toy the paper piercer and mat pack oh and the brads too! Gotta love the details you can add with that combination!

This one is made with the Au Chocolate and Temtping Turquoise cardstock again (I'm beginning to think I like this combo or something!) the Office Accoutrement stamp set, Tempting Turquiose ribbon that I did the little fray trick to and some natural colored ribbon, natural cardstock on the inside and another new and favorite punch - notebook! How cool is that notebook punch! Just think of all the possibilities! I'll do my best to show them on here for you to see too!

OMG! I totally loved how this card turned out! My boss had to have surgery and I volunteered to make him a card! Well, he is into drama so I thought I'd case a really cute card from SCS as it seemed to fit! I used my favorite stamp set on this one (actually bought it for my daughter yet it's never seen her hands but not for the lack of trying on my part!) It's called "Monkey Business"! I used that notebook punch again too - doesn't it really look like a film strip. The paper isn't SU but shhh don't tell ;) I also used some yellow brads I had that matched the yellow paper perfectly!

Here is the inside of the above card. Another cute monkey is on the inside and the words he's holding up are "Better Get Better" which is another SU stamp set called "Quick Thinking". I made this card a little bigger then normal since there were a lot of people who were supposed to sign it! He actually liked it too!

Well that's all for now! Stay tuned for more good things to come!

My First Open House

I had my first "Open House" for Stampin Up on Saturday! What a ton of fun! We did make and takes and everyone was able to do them! YEAH! I got several orders and by closing my party out on Friday am hoping for a few more ;)! I have all my class samples ready to post next so keep watching!
